Members of PH, I have not seen anything on this before, maybe it's on a climate or St Greta thread, but can't find it and you know how dreadful search is.

Anyway, German group like us, half a million members, avid Gearheads /Speed Matters types, kicking back. They have votes unlike gobby fifteen year olds. So do we.

think it has been mentioned before - but it's worth reposting. Just hope that it's not populated by the total throbbers who seem to pass as enthusiasts at various flash-meets

Having worked in India and much of Asia and seen how a) they mostly set fire to their rubbish in many places and B) how they maintain their vehicles, I don't care about emissions because nothing I ever do will make even 0.1% difference compared to India and China and the like.

That's fair comment, one of the guys they interviewed, when questioned whether this was akin to initial French yellow vest protests, commented that if it led to street demonstrations and disorder then he was out wanting nothing to do with that, which seemed a reasonable view.

Clearly there is concern for automotive related economy and employment. After all we can't all piss about on 15 million pound carbon fibre yachts even if they do have a diesel engine that we carefully don't mention.

BUT,BUT,but it's the thought that counts.

Anyway, referring to the OP it's good to know there are likeminded people under the skin of the eu(and rest of world) whose voices are being heard.

FiF - apologies for hijacking your thread, but I've dropped you a PM, and as mine go to a mailbox I don't normally monitor I thought I'd drop you a note where you might see it.

Would really appreciate any help you could provide...

Sway, no worries, just seen it, you have a bit of a half assed rushed response in your inbox. Hope that gets things started. Bit difficult for considered answer right now as explained in mail.

Gobby 15 year old non voters will in three short years become 18 year old voters. In fact Greta herself is now 17 I believe.

Well, why not? Though it needs some thought as to the sell, previous pressure groups seemed to get hooked up on cameras. Groups for better driving standards have a bit of a pipe, cardigan and driving slippers image. Any other road transport group too specialised / nerdy perhaps. Struck me if Bozzer Johnson is about improving transport infrastructure we need something to get the roads a fair crack of the whip. I'm too much of a rambling old fart and not enough spare time and energy to be much use would suspect. But why not?

Maybe get some motoring writers on board like (for example) Dan Prosser / Henry Catchpole / Steve Sutcliffe / Matt Prior / Richard Meaden to give some gravitas to the project? Of course, detractors would point to videos of most of the above featuring videos of smoky drifts on a track but these journalists also see the bigger picture with regard to EV's and their place in future motoring.
