Kim Jong-un has called for a "positive and offensive security" policy at a gathering of party leaders.

I would have put this down to showmanship and bluster. However, the it's at an usual timing for such a meeting, so maybe he is going to carry out his threat to send a ballistic missile to Japan?

Edit: title should have the word "Sabre" biggrin

likely more ratteling than action - an attack on a third party would see his country destroyed and even mad men don't want to rule a pile of ash

All mouth & no trousers.....
Mr Kim will keep going with the sabre rattling to suit his needs: extract $$$ by any means necessary, short of a full blown war, which would see his country decimated, along with much of South Korea too. My guess is that he will ratchet things up, maybe launching a missile over Japan, & then there will be a flurry of diplomatic activity where there will be a behind the scenes agreement to cancel some sanctions or similar.....
