Flight paths & missiles over Iran/Syria, Iraq and NK
Discussion
With the small chance of a few missile strikes for Iran to save face, who or what agency decides to re-route all flights and when?
(I'm hoping in order to Iran save face they will lob a few mortars and small rockets towards the USA airbase hoping they all hit the sand and a few at Sadia Arabia and lot less than what the did recently as Iran knows that the USA will knock the prestige of their third rate missiles and those higher up in the food chain do not want to lose face or their lives)
There was re-routing over Pakistan a few months ago when flew to Indonesia as flights we redirected and over an hour longer flight. This was to do with some sabre-rattling between Pakistan and India and over now as I have checked the live flight radar and flights over Pakistan.
Where can I check? Do some airlines act alone I think BA have in the past.
TIA

But it will be both sides firing.
I have a friend that is in the IRG's. He was on leave but called up yesterday. The guy specialises in drones but he said that the IRG is aware that the USA's want them to give them an excuse and therefore will limit themselves to a face-saving response and claim victory and the USA denies, so good all round. But until that happens, who puts the rules in place over a so-called possible no-fly zone?

I thought it was airlines call.
Most airlines stopped flying over the Ukraine whilst Russia was annexing it!
Except of course for Malaysia Airlines. Who continued to fly over it...

Given Malaysia also lost MH370 I would NEVER get on one of their aircraft!

Thanks all.
The NOMTA, bit worrying that it's not mandatory.
I guess if the country declares it like a no-fly zone like that of war torn countries its different but just remember Saudia Arabia as every so often a missile or three come over from Yemen. IMO its luck that they don't hit a passenger plane rether than luck and therefore governments must enforce airlines as they don't want to spend extra money on diversions.

Following MH17 most, but not all, airlines took alternative routes through the gulf corridor to Europe, to avoid Iraqi and Syrian airspace (for around 6 months). However, that alternative was through Iranian airspace straight into Turkey, so that won't be happening this time. There is an alternative southerly route via Saudi and Egyptian airspace (although I personally wouldn't classify Sinai as safe) but it is a much longer way round.
At the moment they are still streaming over Baghdad at the rate of one every couple of minutes (including me last Friday). It should be an interesting flight back to Kuwait at the weekend. It adds about 15 minutes to the flying time to take the northern diversion, or 30 minutes to head south.

Have you tried contacting Revolutionary Guard Corps in Tehran? Worth dropping them a quick email. Just do not open any attachments if you get a reply.

Looks like he did but they didn't seem to know either, hence asking on PH!fromkentgent said:

If they are planning on using the Irish Guards we are more screwed than we thought. I have a friend that is in the IRG's. He was on leave but called up yesterday. Hi
What I have noted is that no matter how serious the topic, most will post rubbish rather than read and move on if no helpful comment is coming.
People like you discourage posters, members from asking questions.
May I politely suggest you get a job or a hobby other than stalking the forums 24/7 waiting to pounce with your rubbish...

Absolutely agree, we need more threads like this...What I have noted is that no matter how serious the topic, most will post rubbish rather than read and move on if no helpful comment is coming.

The good news is that if you stick around these parts both your language skills and sense of humour could have a chance of improving. After the 13 rockets launched by Iran last night, airlines were still flying across the missile routes and indeed were right up until about a few minutes ago. Now the FAA has restricted flights over there whatever that means.
The war has gone even better than I thought of IE. I thought Iran would hit an American base in Iraq a base spread over 10 square miles with a few rockets, possibly put a hole in one tanker and a couple of missiles at SA. TheUSA would then claim as a fact that rockets fell into the sand, Iran claims they have killed USA forces and we are back to the position we were before the USA took out the IRG General. I was almost spot on.
Flying over the country is still a risk as a plane could be misidentified and light-triggered forces may accidentally shoot down a passenger jet.
BTW: Those that chat BS re my spelling and grammar and me not being, implying that I'm nor an indigenous person, what is your point?
I have a great car, great property, great rental properties all paid off and a great family, retired at 51 as did my OH, our children are doctor, dentist and a lawyer, what do you have to show for your presence on our planet, a council home? If you want to take this personally, I'm happy with that.

I have and my initial thoughts were, these b
ds Iran/USA have managed to do what I was worried about and the FAA are useless.....It's a mechanical fault they say and sadly ties in with the fact the plane was overhauled 2 days ago and I fear the possibility as happened before something was not carried out to spec
RIP
So what's you point?
