What do we all make of this?

Seems to be quite a clumsy attempt at intimidation of Bezos, who owns Washington Post as well as Amazon! So is it legit, or another rogue agent, or complete fabrication to try to tuck up the Saudis? How did National Inquirer get the texts, and what are the compromising images of Bezos all about (eye beleach required....??? )

An odd story, but with Bezos tweeting about Khashhoggi yesterday, is it going to go away...?

The odd thing is, you’d think how daft he must be to have used effectively his own number for it, so it must be a tuck up. But then you look at some of the things some people in power get up to, clearly under their own name, (eg Donald!) and then you think it may be real!

A very odd case

If MbS’ guys said “send it from your number, as he’ll never open it otherwise, but don’t worry this is untraceable...” then I can see how we get there.

Given end-to-end encryption, is it actually feasible for anyone to “slip in” a message from a third location?

Rich as Bezos is MBS has resources few have access to. Did he want to indimidate Bezos I doubt it, more likely to be ramdom hackers. MBS could literally have you killed if he wanted, Bezos is super rich but I doubt Amazon has trained killers on the pay roll who can chop up a body.

Given the way some parcels can disappear without trace, a bone saw + acid bath may well be involved.

US papers like Washington Post are streets ahead of our feeble efforts in the UK. Im glad the papers here
are dying out.
I have more respect for Bezos now.
Those Saudis just show you cant make decent civilized people by throwing money around.
Anyone they throw it at just joins them down the scale.

There's a rather wonderful irony in this Bezos bloke being annoyed at being spied upon, when his company has put devices in millions of home that's always "listening" to its environment in case someone utters the magic word "alexa"
