against people misusing P&C spaces

Given the number of selfish people there are he's likely to end up getting punched sooner or later.

Perhaps folks using them have some sort of disability which is temporary and need to be closer to the store. Does he not give anyone the benefit of the doubt? A very cynical man indeed.

Also what's all this children up to 12 nonsense? Surely once they are able to walk they can walk with their parents and don't need extra room to get in and out? I reckon old people are more deserving of the spaces than 11 year olds.

I'm not a parent but I have my suspicions that anyone who gets upset about this stuff probably needs to find something to occupy their time.

I've got a blue badge and if all the disabled bays are full (often with people with no blue badge!) i have no issue with parking in a parent and child space.

Agree with the bloke, but it's a complete waste of time.

Selfish tw@ts will be selfish tw@ts regardless of a flyer.

The irony of folk on these very forums who moan that they 'need' to park in them to prevent their precious metal box getting dinged by an irresponsible child - whilst it would be impossible for this to happen if those who actually needed to park in the wider spaces could, were it not for selfish folk.

Someone parks too close to me (regardless of P&C space or not) and I cannot physically get my child's seat into the door aperture, I'll be petty and fold in all their mirrors and lift all their wiper arms up. If they already have foldy-in mirrors, fold them the other way.

Takes them 30 seconds to put right, but probably leaves them questioning their decisions...

I'm disappointed that Essex dad is not riding a fine white charger to the Holy Land to engage the Musulman in some fisticuffs

Deus Vult!

Also, the spaces are only marketing gimmicks for the supermarkets anyway, they identified people with kids will spend more money than others, so made it more convenient for them to come to the shops. I don't park in them, but they are pretty much fair game to park in them.

If you think they're fair game, why wouldn't YOU park in them?

i think you're correct, his facebook page used to be quite entertaining too until he turned in to a politically opinionated loon during the election campaign.

Because I chose to park the furthest away from the door, because even given a big enough gap some dhead will still blindly open their door into your car anyways, plus I don't fancy shelling out a few grand for a 3 stage respray if some mouth breather decides to key my car because I dare not to have a child with me.

Out of interest at what age are children considered to be too old? I stopped parking in the spaces as soon as mine were out of pushchairs.

If it's good for the goose it's good for the gander you are no different than the people abusing the blue badge spaces.

12.

Up that that age kids now have to use a booster seat so I guess that's the reason.

He absolutely isn't. Disability isn't a choice, kids are, and using a disabled space when you don't need to (whether disabled yourself or due to having a disabled person in the car) is the action of a right peasant.

The comments on the HYS section are actually pretty normal considering the demented tripe you usually get on them.

Not quite:

The law requires all children travelling in the front or rear seat of any car, van or goods vehicle must use the correct child car seat until they are either 135 cm in height or 12 years old (which ever they reach first). After this they must use an adult seat belt.

That's probably the reason why (some?) supermarkets have set that age as the cut off, though, I guess.

Pedantry matters.
