What's happening if anything with vehicle travel across on ferries and Chunnel next week. Green cards? International Drivers permit? Or just business as usual as we are in transition?

Nothing has changed, they have and still do automatically provide the minimum cover required by law in all EU countries. The green card extends that to the equivalent of UK third party fire and theft for 90 days. If you want like for like comprehensive cover they do that for free for a couple of days or you have to pay up to have that for longer.
Nowt to do with Brexit.
I spoke to my insurer (NFU) about a green card. Its printed on the reverse of my insurance certificate that I have had since renewal in August. Cost? Nil.Nowt to do with Brexit.
