Good to see, it may just be because it's the local rag and they've given him more airtime but I like how Mr Sanderson thanks everyone involved.https://www.dorsetecho.co.uk/news/18239621.driver-...
If all AEB is the same, why did NCAP recently rate Tesla's AEB as class leading. Tesla AEB system scored 94%. next closest was Citroen C5 at 82%. Highest scoring BMW was 3 series 76%.
Most cars except for Tesla are clustered in the mid 70s region, which makes sense as most cars use mobileye except for Tesla.
Very typical anti tesla nonsense from PH.

Can someone explain to be how they were saved by a radar breaking system?
I only ask because when a tree falls its In the air most of the time and then its hit your bonnet (in the picture given). Unless tesla is forward thinking enough to point its radar vertically most normal cars would have only seen that tree when it was in front of them and therefore would have had nothing to do with saving them.
Not hitting the car in front I can understand. Avoiding a tree falling, I don't think so.

Having been in one in self-driving mode it's pretty impressive, the forward facing cameras are scanning pretty much everything. The display shows a pair of green lines showing where the car's heading, I expect it calculated there would be an obstruction and stopped.I only ask because when a tree falls its In the air most of the time and then its hit your bonnet (in the picture given). You think they drove into the already fallen tree then?I was thinking that two approaching Tesla drivers picked an unfortunate spot to slow down to nod and wave at each other.

There has to be more to this story than what's in the article?
So are they saying two teslas were passing or about to pass each other head to head, and a tree fell right in the middle of them and hit both bonnets? Or were they going the same way? Seems extraordinary timing and coincidence. Don't they have built in dash cams, I would love to see then vid?
I could see both of the ploughing into an already fallen tree, but for it to fall on them at the same times seems crazy odds. Passengers very lucky if so.
Editted to say some EV forums and Tesla forums seem similarly sceptical. Most seem to think they just drove into the already fallen tree, maybe on autopilot, maybe not, as the autopilot would not be looking outside the boundaries of the road for a falling object.
Weird story
