What on earth is happening in our country when people allegedly think this way and act upon it - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-51736...

Hopefully the thugs will be found but the lack of intelligence demonstrated by these yobs is depressing. I do wonder if the sensationalisation of media reporting and populist politics of today embolden people to act in such an uncivilised way?

I hope Jonathan makes a full recovery.

Whilst some feign ignorance to cover their true motivations, the majority of the population are exceedingly stupid.
Sales of the beer 'Corona' have dropped significantly, proving just how incapable of cognition most people appear to be.

Between a legally mandated sterilisation program and sufficient tax hikes to put ALL children through private school, we project an increase in the national average intelligence. Prior to these programs becoming operational you must endure the unwashed masses.

Society really is becoming more stupid, its like a commodity thats gone up in value and everyone needs to show how rich they are.

The attackers deserve a good kicking for that, see how they like it.

Corona beer sales have dropped in China, for obvious reasons.

Elsewhere there has been no impact.

Not that they don’t deserve sterilisation or a good kicking - do you think the feral bunch were mouthing off (and the student was an easy target) and didn’t like being confronted i.e. should the student just have ignored them and carried on? Either way admire his courage to take four of them on. I’ll be memorising their faces as i frequent that area alot.

According to a very factual picture on Reddit, 30 odd percent of Americans refuse to buy it.

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/5wpr-survey-reveals-38-of-beer-drinking-americans-wouldnt-buy-corona-now-301012225.html

5W Public Relations, one of the top 15 independently-owned PR agencies in the U.S., has conducted a survey via phone of 737 American beer drinkers over the age of 21 on February 25 & 26, 2020, regarding their opinions about the popular Mexican beer brand, Corona, as a result of the deadly coronavirus that's spreading around the world.

According to SEMrush, a trends data provider, and multiple media reports, there has been a consistent uptick in searches for "corona beer virus" and "beer coronavirus" over the past few weeks.

5WPR's survey found that:

38% of beer-drinking Americans would not buy Corona under any circumstances now;
among those who said they usually drink Corona, only 4% said they would stop drinking Corona, but 14% said they wouldn't order Corona in a public venue;
16% of beer drinking Americans were confused about whether Corona beer is related to the coronavirus.

That survey is deliberately misleading, designed to promote exactly the sort of "people are dumb and will believe anything" sentiment visible on this thread. Ironically, by citing it you have proven the point smile

The most shocking revelation is that while people suspect Corona beer, nobody looks at the lime.

During the plague we blamed the rats, not the fleas. Todays parallel is that during Coronavirus we blame the Corona but the lime gets a free pass.

Coronavirus is misdiagnosed Lyme disease?

As with anything regarding market research, quoting it at face value is dangerous territory. Context is everything, the framing of the survey, the order of the questions and the question wording themselves can all heavily influence the outcomes. I had a quick look and couldn't see who had commissioned the survey, whoever paid for it will have had an influence on what is asked and how - leading questions can easily get put in there if a negative outcome is needed from the responses.

Did anyone else get a disposable masks advert when they clicked on this thread? By the way, I do have a rough idea how internet advertising works but I've most definitely not searched for such things or even looked at many news items about the issue. Any ideas?

No, my advert is for camo suits and wilderness tents...
I'm sure that the inference that I might soon be needing a stack of survival gear is totally unrelated to the Coronavirus issue.

Young people today eh, what are we to do with them? These are the future, apparently cleaning up the mess left by oldies like me. No end of common assaults such as this occur daily, it’s been picked up by the press because skin colour makes a better headline.

0% finance on a Seat for me. My want levels for one are in about the same ballpark as the Coronavirus itself, maybe that’s why?

That's a relief for the Paul Hardcastle-backed real ale that's just been released called Covid.

It's fking disgusting behaviour!

It shouldn't be surprising (and that in itself is a pretty sad statement) when you have the bunch of tts who vandalised the home of a paediatrician confusing a Dr with being a paedophile!

Just shows that racists will use any justification to be s, like their parents likely would've done against previous waves of migrants.

But isn't the mere consideration that a Chinese person is more likely to have visited affected parts of China a bit racist?
