Am I reading too much into this?

It reads to me like a European Government has just turned itself into a dictatorship with pretty much unlimited powers.

I suppose all we can hope for is just because he can, doesn't mean he will.

Agreed. It's the potential to misuse the power which is concerning.

Doesn't the Leave the EU Bill grant UK ministers the power to vary primary legislation by decree in the interests of, err, expediency? Or did that clause get removed? If it is still there, the PM could simply remove the sunset clause using those powers...

Orban has been trying to tighten the screws in Hungary for some time.

The Coronavirus is giving him the ammunition he needs to complete the job. Hungary will end up a democracy in name only. He sees what Putin has done and thinks ‘I’ll have some of that’.

It seems 72% of Hungarians are in favour.

The rest are starting their jail sentence's tomorrow

Only the other day there were talks that this could get them kicked out of the EU, anyone know if that still a possibility?
