I read today that a member of the public will be allowed to ask a question at the daily briefing, the panel will not know the question in advance.

What would you ask?

Why has the Govt not told NHS staff that the flu vaccine increases the risk of contracting COVID19 and you bullied NHS staff to get it last year putting their lives directly at risk now.

Surely the "question from a member of the public" is just a way of getting a question asked that they actually want to answer. At the end of the day we (including gummint wonks) are all members of the public. I certainly can't see it being selected by sortition.

As there are no accurate figures on actual number who have contracted the virus (very little testing) , no up to date accurate number of deaths and no tracing of contacts how can govt representatives state that the R0 is now less than 1?
Perhaps those with the virus have each infected many other persons. Without tracing how does one know?

Why have all the NHS staff been told/warned not to tell thier families and friends the real truth about what is really going on in thier hospital? ARE you too afraid that the st might stick? Well, sorry, why do you expect me to believe your answer?

Have they? I can check with my cousin who works in an ITU oop Narth.

ETA: stories like this sensationalist, exaggerated, melodramatic crap are ridiculous. Also why would you expect central government to answer a question about individual health trusts?

I think you know.

But an example (4th hand, from an unreliable source)

Nurse with C-19 still suffering after 5 days is phoned and told to get back to work, she's had enough time off. By the same manager who told her, they didn't have any PPE and she'd have to take her chances.
