Banksy has created a new design which he has donated to the NHS. It is currently on display in Southamtpon Hospital and will eventually be auctioned for NHS charities. Definitely brought a buzz around the corridors which hasn't been there recently.

Wasn’t the whole point of Bansky that he was edgy and counter cultural?

It's a nice hospital, Southampton General. Good people there.

Meh, he's always been a bit "green Korean lady" but for brickwork.

I'm one of those people who can walk around an art gallery and not really "get it".

I get that smile

Shame hes trotting out the same old stereotype that nurses have to be women.

Hope they're going to secure it otherwise someone will be walking out of the hospital with it by lunchtime

Meh. Banksy has jumped the shark. It has all the subtlety of a brick, panders to a number of stereotypes and lacks any soul. Banksy has always been a bit “student politics” but this slumps in to cliche.

Fair play to him if it does something for the hospital. I always preferred his music though

TBF part of the problem today is people imagining they're being counter cultural and fighting the evil system while failing to see the mainstream western politics has adopted/panders to so much of what was counter cultural yesterday - environment, equal rights, civil liberties etc. Today's activists can't recognise how much success they've had and are pursuing an ever diminishing resource and telling us we need to concern ourselves with issues such as the toileting of trans people and determination to reveal oppression that simply isn't there.

We watched some old bond the other night and weren't offended by the blatant chauvinism, even though it jarred slightly, because it's a historical document of how far we've come socially in 50 years and that's what should be taken away. If you get upset by the past then it stands you find nothing of right-now to challenge.

I guess there's always been people saying "no that's quite enough for now" when the big topics were being discussed. When Blair wanted wars and pfi everything and Cameron gay marriage, if there's a fight to be had then its with the rather hopeless people in general in politics today, not pantomime grade caricatures of any side or individual

Sorry if I wandered off down a path a bit
