Very sad and disruptive for the kid involved. Looks great on social media but when he’s too much work he’s fobbed off onto someone else.

Before jumping to conclusions, they specify behaviours towards their own children, which were putting them at risk.

I've had dealings with Autistic kids before, who you could actually class as sexual predators......Maybe that was the case here?

That's a pretty scummy thing to do however hard it got and it was pretty obvious from the beginning it was going to be hard.

Did they really use the term 'rehomed'?

You have to despair.

Also, if you put yourself through the torture of watching their video explanation of the situation, they stress that several medical professionals and psychologists strongly recommended that they ‘Rehome’ (for want of a better word) the child.

I have no idea what the truth actually is, but I guess it is entirely possible that they were told in no uncertain terms that they simply weren’t going to be able to manage with looking after the child any longer.

"Dealings". Please elaborate. Plenty of non autistic people are sexual predators. I can't believe what I am reading. My son is autistic. He's the kindest little boy who has incredible compassion. What an awful disgusting assertion you have made.

Ignore the disgusting cretin.
The leap from autistic child to potential sexual predator is simply the work of fool.

Just because you son is X, doesn't mean someone else isn't Y. Your own situation is obviously clouding your judgement on his statement. It's not impossible for some autistic people to show traits involving aggression, even sexual aggression against others, just like as pointed out it isn't impossible for non autistic people to be like that either, I don't believe his statement was an equivalence of autistic = definite sexual predator, but it also doesn't mean the statement is false. Obviously I don't believe that is what has happened in this case, with the information that is available though.

Why was someone with 4 kids allowed to adopt a disabled child from a foreign country??

I mean literally its a recipe for disaster!! It would be hard enough without the other 4 kids?

Out of interest, do you know many four year old sexual predators whether autistic or non autistic? Seriously....

I believe this statement is appalling because i) it speaks in the plural and is generalised, and does not refer to a specific example and ii) it seeks to assert that an autistic person is more prone to this kind of behaviour. So my judgment is not clouded whatsoever. Autistic people have a difficult enough time without this kind of non specific commentary being disseminated.

Well, I can confirm they said it, because I watched it.

But I suppose what you actually mean is: They were lying when they said it.

I did caveat my post by saying it ‘I have no idea what the truth actually is’, but I am merely suggesting it is entirely possible that they were advised by doctors/professionals that the child would be better off in a different environment with a higher level of care and attention than perhaps they were able to provide.

Haven't you then done exactly what you're accusing him of by using an emotionally charged false equivalence generalisation with your own anecdotal experience, in that; your son is autistic and kind, therefore all autistic people are kind, no exceptions? I mean, I didn't think that from what you have said as I read his statement the same way I've read yours, in that I was able to work out that he wasn't talking about every single autistic person in his statement, as otherwise that would have been extremely hyperbolic and demonstrably wrong. He only talked briefly of anecdotal examples of his experiences, my anecdotal experiences of autistic people are different to his and yours, and yours obviously are different to his.

Admittedly I'll agree with you in that his wording could have been better, but that doesn't make his statement or experiences are incorrect.

He gave no actual examples though. Just a generalised statement in the plural. I could have left my son out of what I said and I still think my points stand.

On the subject at hand, note they the people in question posted up a year ago about the child staring during mealtimes and that "it's driving my husband bonkers". Hardly extreme behaviour.
