Ah, god .. I've gone out every Thursday to avoid the claps! I might go for a jog in a minute .. it's quite motivating to be clapped at as you jog past complete randoms doing seal impressions.

I slipped up a couple of weeks back, hadn't noticed the time and the dog was pestering me for his evening walk. So I obliged, only a few yards into it and everyone is out clapping as we walk past.... felt really awkward. Not made that mistake since.

It's when you run past and grab the mug of tea out of their hands that they object to.survivalist said:

Surely now we have the highest death toll in Europe we should boo the NHS?
Not sure how you come to that conclusion. If you want to boo someone then boo our incompetent leaders who changed tack several times pre-lockdown and continue to flounder.I think I need to get off Facebook.
The clap has been quite well observed in the SE London terraced street where I live. Tonight was definitely quite low-key by comparison with previous weeks which supports my view that as soon as the media announces that a change is on the cards, people start behaving as if it's all ready happened.

I agree, went for a walk with my dog this evening and it does seem a bit like lockdown’s over. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
