YouTube censorship?
Discussion
Quick experiment. Think of anything to tap into the YouTube search engine and see it autofill what it thinks you are searching for. Now tap in Stefan Molyneux (has 982K followers) and see what happens. For me and the other computers/phones in the house it does not autofill. It is not as though his name isn't unusual.
Guessing his views don't match the Google narrative.

As a private company isn't that up to them?
They are indeed a private company and free to control what goes on their site. However, that then makes them a publisher with lots of legal ramifications. They claim to be a platform with significantly different and less legal obligations over the content. A platform shouldn't be able to control what goes on their site. That is one of the important differences.
At least that is my understanding, no doubt someone will be along to correct me

Who's that......Googles name'' Stefan Molyneux is a far-right, white nationalist Canadian podcaster and YouTuber who is known for his promotion of scientific racism and white supremacist views.''
And you are proud to post on here telling everyone how much of a big racist you are?

There are some chinese phrases which get automatically deleted: https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/26/21270290/youtub...
Oh whoops, that was all a silly mistake we'd better walk that one back....: https://www.theverge.com/2020/5/27/21271611/youtub...
yeah blah blah private platform but these companies do get some sort of dispensation from the US government to operate as they do. If they were oil companies or telecommunications companies they would have been broken up already.

Youtube consider the poster has breached their terms, so restricts access. Completely up to them - it's their platform.
Surprised you haven't mentioned that Paypal no longer wish to deal with him and MailChimp have kicked him off their platform too.

I get his channel and a whole list of his videos listed. Turns out he's a faux-intellectual oaf who can't structure a proper argument about anything. What a waste of time.Guessing his views don't match the Google narrative.
Thanks, that's my YouTube search results f

Difference is, he's not a faux-intellectual. He's just a racist
.I really need to be more discerning about the links and searches I follow from here.

Unsorted, I wouldn't waste your time if I were you. Guessing his views don't match the Google narrative.
Sounds like he most-likely appeals to people who use hatred of others to make-up for their own insecurities and inadequacies.
You know the type - perhaps not quite as clever as they think they are.
If you are bored, YouTube has far superior content to this.
If YouTube don’t want people searching for him or to be associated with him, why not just ban him from YouTube?
There’s a debate about this on one of the climate threads yesterday where YouTube removed the Michael Moore film ‘Planet of the Humans’ due to “copyright infringement”. Apparently certain blogs and websites are labelled unreliable by search engines and are stopping to appear in searches.
Some social media apps like twitter are starting to censor blogs and websites known to be unreliable sources of information also as part of their fact checking policy they’ve called out trump a few rimes recently. Facebook now coming under pressure from users and employees for not doing more of the same.
It’s all part of these apps not wanting to be used for spreading misinformation and fake news. Obviously though the apps themselves have to get involved in deciding what’s fake news or what’s racist etc.
My view is that it’s totally up to YouTube (or whatever app or social media platform or website etc) what they have on there. It’s their business but they have to tread a fine line as if they become known for being overzealous with the censorship, people might go somewhere else.
Every app or social media platform or forum has its own rules about what the owners want it used for, if you don’t like them, don’t use it.
