Sadly two paramedics have been stabbed whilst attending a routine job, hopefully both crew members will recover quickly.

It’s not often a news story hits my wife and I close to home but this did today as one of our daughters works for WMAS, she was on duty today but not involved, obviously we had a worrying couple of hours.

It's an awful story.

This sounds like someone with mental illness which obviously doesn't make it any better for those involved but it amazes me the st our emergency services have to face from a section of the public.

Luckily no-one died, does sound like the man maybe had a few issues, and panicked when his door was opened.

My missus worked in a Alzheimer's ward and would tell stories how bad things would get with patients during particularly bad episodes.

Best wishes to them for a swift recovery.

Surprising to see so little about this story on NP&E after the deluge of posts about the Glasgow stabbings.

Sadly this is far more common than you'd imagine.

My father had it and it completely changed his personality. Became aggressive (something he'd never been in 60+ years before) to the point we had to hide all the knives in the house. He ended up being placed in a secure care unit, for his own safety.

Sorry to hear that, it is a horrible affliction.

Hmm, chap goes out armed with knife and intentionally causes harm to multiple people.
Chap finds intruders in his house and panics.
