So, another bunch of entitled s turn up to cause nuisance and Have an illegal Gathering during a pandemic, and police turn up to have a look and do basically fk all!
Repost mention hundreds are cars parked along the A46.
Why not just immobilise (clamp) or tow a few hundred of them, at least make the jibbers have to turn up with ID to get them back, then charge them with whatever offences they can regarding attending the rave.

They keep organising these things, wkers keep attending them, as they know there is no consequences. None at all. That has to change, surely.

Mmm, are you surprised?

Youngsters need to let off steam but kept a few Bath residents awake with the event, albeit illegal, so what?

Good on 'em but don't come 'ere with yer boom boxes, cos we've got ways to make you regret it! biggrin

Nice in theory but in practise where are the Somerset Police going to get the resource from to do that?

Use one of those planes they use to put out forest fires - you'd probably only need to drop one load...

No consequences? None at all? Then why is it even a concern that there is a rave during a pandemic?

Or do you mean there could be a consequence because of the pandemic?

Maybe, young people have seen their futures destroyed due to hysterical opinions like yours which have led to a destruction of the economy. So just want to at least enjoy their life

Fair comment. However schools with teachers not teaching, universities pretty much shut, biggest economic slump, etc. Might not be futures ruined but a pretty big set back.
It was just easier to write futures ruined then write about the economic damage the lockdown has caused.

Would be easy for the police to do some intel (just go on Facebook) and then confiscate the scaffolding and the generators and sound equipment as it's being set up the morning beforehand but they don't bother so likely the event has tacit approval from the authorities.

OP, is it the noise nuisance you are objecting to, people having fun, or just young people in general?

This is an abandoned airfield, in what is pretty much the middle of nowhere. If the handful of officers available had tried to break it up, in the dark, there would have been chaos. When sufficient police turned up, in daylight, the ravers went home.

A pragmatic solution to a not very serious problem in my view.

With these illegal raves, why don't they just turn the mains power off or pour water in the petrol generators?

Especially if it's that Rap rubbish.

Kids today....rolleyes

You're not 'shocked' by a line of parked vehicles as some passers by reportedly were?
Have you no shame?

Does anyone know where you can find the details of an unlicensed rave of the style that I missed out on in the 90's by virtue of being born slightly too late?

Asking for a friend.

Nothing new, bad behaviour at these type of gatherings.

I remember when we were pelted with cans of lager half filled with piss, thrown from behind at The Reading festival in 1975 during Wishbone Ash's set.

What a selfish attitude, typical of the "me me me" generation.

We can't keep our elderly population prisoner forever just so you can go to party.

No, no, no, you’re doing it wrong. OF COURSE it’s the police’s fault. Maybe if there weren’t 20,000 fewer officers nationwide...
