Ok so Mr Shapps returned "home" 3 days ago (Wednesday 29th July). Presuming that he will adhere to the 14 day rule he will be in quarantine until Wednesday 12th August.

From the TV pictures it looked like that he returned to the "family" home. Does anyone know when the rest of the family are due back? Surely this will be after the 12th of August by which Mr Shapps will have to move to his "other home" so that the clock on his quarantine will have to be reset back to zero.

I know my ex wouldn't be happy with this arrangement of having to look after the kids on your own for at least 2 weeks.

Nah, Shapps will simply drive up north and claim it is for an eye test. Everything will then be fine & dandy and Shapps will carry on as if nothing had happened.

I read today that apparently the timing of the Government making a decision and the timing of the announcement meant that Shapps knew what was going to be announced so didn't have to actually travel there and have to quarantine.

Apparently he travelled there as he didn't think it would look good if he didn't travel and people then found out the reason why.

If it's true I do have respect for him doing that.

Well after (1) Cummings; (2) Stanley Johnson; (3) Mammy and her daily updates and (4) My flights being cancelled I am very keen to have no more bullsh*t.

More likely they just forgot to tell him.

I think you would be well advised to get a life.

It looks like the Shapps family may have other concerns than just CV19 to contend with, they may well have a stalker camped out nearby eager to ensure a Govt minister doesn't contravene quarantine rules.

What a bizarre thread!

Once Grant has completed his 14 days quarantine he can come and go as he pleases even if his wife and kids are still in quarantine as long as they have no symptoms...

So no reset...

Either you must be a government apologist or not really understanding the issue.

I am absolutely no fan of Mr Shapps, in fact I think he’s a bit of a clot... but... having been informed on Friday about the return travel embargo he could have cancelled his trip. However, realising that this would likely be out, carried on travelling with his family. This was widely reported on Saturday evening. On realising things were going a bit Pete Tong around transport he returned home early, and set to working from home. Mrs Shapps and family carried on thier holiday, and why shouldn’t they, as long as they obey the rules on their return. As for Mrs Shapps needing to look after the kids, I would imagine as the wife of a cabinet minister who probably works quite long hours, she is well able to look after them on her own, and likely didn’t want to can her holiday.
