Hopefully nothing too serious but lots of ambulances etc.

Crikey, they don't look to be very close to the crash site either, I bet access down there is a bloody struggle.

I know that stretch of line quite well, access is going to be really tricky.

Let's just hope the emergency services are taking no chances and everyone is OK.

News locally is that of a bridge collapsing. Horrible news. We've been hit hard with the storm so that'll be making things even harder for the responders trying to get access.

Access will also be hampered with the rain. Pictures of the town centre in Stonehaven showing a lot of flooding.

Local mountain rescue is going to be busy.

We did a multi-service exercise when I was still in MR on just this situation. It was extremely challenging.

Hopefully the numbers there are purely precautionary.

That's a awful lot of thick black smoke coming up on the footage.

Doesn't look great.

Serious injuries according to FM.

Not sounding good at all.

Railway grapevine is saying there was difficulty in contacting the driver, let's hope it's not an ominous sign. Also hearing the train involved is an HST but not confirmed. Best wishes to all concerned, having been involved in a few incidents over the years it's never easy.

Rail forums have a picture showing one power car (of an HST set) and a damaged viaduct parapet. The other power car and all carriages derailed and went down an embankment.

The train was attempting to return to Aberdeen as the line was blocked by a landslide.

And some rather shocking pictures of a heap of carriages.

I posted saying the photo above wasn't from the crash, but seems it is, heck.

BBC said 3 out of 4 carriages derailed, so sounds more like a Voyager.

Bloody hell!! If people are at work and would rather not click the link then derailed is an understatement! 1 looks like it is upside down, 1 has severe damage and both are on top of another carriage.

The one on fire looks like the carriage that has gone down the embankment, i hope that was empty...

Hopefully no fatalities frown
