Two NATO countries in the East Med facing off

Slightly gone under the radar but

Should Turkey actually be part of NATO? They have already caused issues with Air to surface missiles bought from Russia and had F35 plane stoppages, they are pro Russian as long as it suits their interest. Which basically is being a local super power over the local lesser nations.
The Ottoman empire in August 2020. With natural resources at stake, just adds to it, everyone wants a bit of the pie.
Will be interesting to follow. The number of countries with fingers in the pie in Libya is shocking, cannot be good for the locals. Who cared about the locals though, check out Yemen. Shut up and put up with it. that Civil war has been going on since France and UK air bombed until "rebels" won and Ghadaffi dead and then washed their hands. Now we have 6 other countries picking at the remains....

It’s certainly interesting, and worrying
We have a power play taking place with Erdogan trying to extend Turkey’s position in the Eastern Med
The gas exploration is part of that projection
Claiming the Turkish continental shelf which extends almost to Crete and Cyprus as Turkish water is very similar to China claiming the the South China Sea
Erdogan is claiming the waters around a Greek island are Turkish because they are only a few km from the Turkish coast and hundreds from Athens
Now we have Macron sending French military units to face off the Turks
Definitely concerning

As ever it’s not simple
France and Turkey seemingly support different gangs in Libya and Turkey lighting up a French warship hasn’t helped when it went to interdict a suspected arms running ship whilst on a NATO anti smuggling mission
But what’s going on at the moment is a dispute between Turkey and Greece over who controls what part of the continental shelf
France has waded in in the side of Greece, possibly because it’s pissed off at Turkey
Whatever, seemingly we now have three NATO country’s flexing military might at each other which I don’t think is in the masterplan somehow

Speaking of Greece, it seems they've been taking tips from the PH migrant thread:

Did the migrants claim asylum? - If NO. Good! Hopefully word will soon spread.https://www.insider.com/migrants-abandoned-at-sea-...
Did the migrants claim asylum? - If YES. That terrible!
