The Greek justice system doesn't hang about! No months and years delays and loophole lawyers here.

Sentencing to carry a Harper's Law uplift, naturally?

Scenes if he gets the jail! Don’t know much about the Greek justice system but I can’t imagine they take attempted bribery very lightly. Not sure which one punched the policeman either but he could easily be told he can’t leave the country and to surrender his passport until sentenced. Doubt he will be playing for England next week.

Suspended sentence.

Legal team appealing. Not sure how well that'll go in a justice system that convicts the accused in their absence.

What was he thinking trying to bribe a police officer, the rest is nothing I would consider unexpected from a footballer but bribery in a foreign country is sinking to a new footballing low.

How did he get a suspended sentence? The local prison football team have had their hopes dashed.

Reports are that the Greek court has stipulated that Maguire can be a freed upon payment of €5000.

Rumours are Manchester United have offered €3000 plus Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones.

Does nothing to dispel my notion that Footballers are generally as thick as mince.

Funny, yes, but he’s already back in the UK.

Do the Greeks review sentence both ways if there is an appeal?

What a knob, acts like a drunken fool, gets into fights with the local coppers, tries to bribe his way out of it and arguably gets out of the country "just in case" and then after all that is now trying to claim he and his knobhead mates are really tye victims. FFS, act like a grown up admit you were a complete cock socket and apologise.

I'd say they had a result. Under what circumstances would the suspension end and the jail time kick in? Presumably a repeat offence in Greece? Looks like Harry's going to Spain next summer.....

Too much to hope for that he never wears an England shirt ever again, then again what could be more England than an scumbag.

From the BBC website:

One policeman alleged that while at the police station, Maguire said: "Do you know who I am? I am the captain of Manchester United. I am very rich. I can give you money. I can pay you. Please let us go."

His colleague added that Maguire had said to him: "Please, let me go. I am very rich. I can pay. I am the leader of Manchester United."

It's like something from a play that 5 year old has written. Do people really believe that?
