They have some serious balls.

Good on them.

The context here is the trial for the accomplices is starting which is why they feel it's relevant to do so again.

I can sort of see the desire for not being cowed, but surely its just a matter of time before there are reprisals ?

And that was the point of the terrorist attack

But how much should we kowtow to the violence.

Absolutely right, they satirise Christianity, Judaism and Catholicism, why should Islam get a free pass?

They must feel their message is very, very essential, and have assessed the risk and are happy with the odds of a bad outcome.

Are you American? 'cause most of the rest of the world thinks Catholics are Christians. And the answer to your question is that it's incredibly rare to be gunned down, or beheaded, by Christians or Jews for taking the piss out of their religions.

Which would suggest there is a unique issue with Islam and perhaps not compatible with Western Europe ?

My personal view.

-All religions are evil.
-Islam has demonstrated itself to be a more evil religion than the others.

There will be a never ending procession of nutters who believe "My Sky Fairy is offended.... On behalf of my Sky Fairy - I must execute/ maim/ insert whatever evil act..... so I will sit next to my Sky Fairy in the afterlife."

But society must stand up to this. So hats off to to the team behind Charlie Hebdo.

Why are no other publications doing an “I am Spartacus” simultaneous print in support?

The not so small print in the insurance clauses will likely state "The policyholder shall not antagonise the brain dead religious fkwits of our planet. Of which there are plenty."

Oh - and - just in case.... "Your Sky Fairy is more than capable of looking after herself/ himself/ etc etc. They do not need your assistance,"

I think that is beyond doubt but probably not a discussion for this thread.

I do recall at the time that when polled 60% of U.K. Muslims expressed sympathy for the attackers.

Admirable of Charlie Hebdo to not be cowed.
