Yet to gather any significant news interest here is a nasty little spat building between Azerbaijan, Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh which has the propensity to grow into something altogether different.

Russia siding with Armenia (thus by default Nagorno-Karabakh as well). Turkey siding with Azerbaijan.
You may not think it matters to us much and at the moment, it doesn't really. But given the gas and oil that comes from the regions, certainly one to keep an eye on!

In Germany, it is in the news since the day of first shots, about a week ago,
meintioning that there were "prvious small-time pin-prick skirmishes" during summmer 2020 but not handing guilt to any party.
It was mentioned in newspapers that there was a year-long cease-fire after the last war,
but during that period the christian government of armenia had pushed out the muslim minority.
German´s government must be tip-toeing in that area, in recent years they admitted the german toleration
of the genocide of armenian people during WW1 by their then-allies and allies since, the turks.
This whole conflict is a geo-political and historic minefield.

It's a pretty nasty conflict that has the capacity to be a damn sight more serious. Having Turkey involved means that NATO Article 5 will be one of those esoteric little things that can cause a lot of sleepless nights for many diplomats.
In its last invocation in the aftermath of 9/11, when NATO acted collectively to provide assistance to the US, with NATO AWACS aircraft supporting the US. I wonder whether Trump will see a potential attack on Turkey the same way. I note that Trump is a fan of Erdogan.

It's ignored because to do the right thing would to condemn Azeri (and their backers Turkey) aggression in Karabakh and thus de facto support Armenia and Russia. And this will never happen
Well that and a solution should have been found to this "frozen" conflict long ago. The majority Armenian population in the separated out province were never likely to agree to live under Muslim rule, not after the history of genocide their people have suffered.
