''Bottle-fed babies may ingest more than a million pieces of microplastics each day, new research showed Monday highlighting the abundance of plastics in our food products.''

I think microplastics will be the next big thing, it is a shame really as glass does such a good job and can be easily used to replace, as growing up everything was glass anyway.

I often wonder about this whole plastic thing and should we be doing more to reduce it. However I accept in practical terms with baby bottles, glass doesn’t bounce!

A friend of mine does a lot of research into micro plastics. As you say I think it’s going to be a huge thing. Plastic is absolutely everywhere, very difficult to avoid being wasteful with it, especially as hardly any of it gets recycled.

Recycling used to be an issue however unwanted plastics are now mainly turned into spare lips for Leslie Ash.

Then this is self evidently OK as we aren't having a pandemic of sick babies. It is like how there are more germs on your chopping board than on your toilet seat, or more on your keyboard etc., it must not matter. smile

The effects may not be fully known.

Western sperm counts have halved in forty years for example and that may be connected to various pollutants in water and food.

Meh, it may be linked to the feminist movement - who knows!

No they've always been that way. The difference is these days kids at school are not taught sex education with reference to frogs and ponds - so they are free to express themselves without fear.

Could also be related to cancer diagnoses and mortality which has been increasing for a while.

Appreciate testing has also increased to identify it earlier.
