If there's money to be made in destroying the planet, only global mutual agreement will prevent it being done. And global mutual agreement is too long-sighted for this generation of leaders.
Poor countries won't be able to contain the internal political pressure to produce wealth by all possible means (and from their POV, why should they?) to vastly improve living standards, and Trump has shown us that wealthy democracies are unwilling to absorb the required changes if it means financial pain or lifestyle changes.
We are barely smarter than microbes and we're pissing all in our only petri dish. Buying a new Tesla every three years instead of a diesel won't change that.

Quite apart from the sinister overtones of this bunch of overprivileged elite re-ordering the world, what is concerning about this slogan is that none of these idiot politicians is capable of Building Back Better even if they had the chance - they couldn't do it before C19, they have mismanaged C19 so what are they going to do different in future?
