It's near impossible to find a man of Bobby's calibre

I grew up with Cannon and Ball.
Bobby used to have me in stitches with his antics and was great in Not going out.

Me too! It was absolutely hilarious to a nine year old me (and to my mum who I thought was going to need oxygen) laugh

Covid is taking half of all the eighties comedy duos !

Really liked Bobby Ball, came across as a genuine sort of bloke.

I saw them in panto last December and they still had it - so funny. My kids had never heard of them but were soon crying with laughter!

RIP Bobby - thanks for the laughs.

Sad news. Pretty harmless comedy in the days where more "edgy" stuff was about, but these guys were just MASSIVE in their day. So a sad loss...

Makes me so angry i could..................;)

Firstly, RIP.... Cannon & Ball were mainstays of television when i was a young boy in the 80’s. We all did impressions of Bobby... they were massive during that era.

Found the documentary on double acts that didn’t get on very interesting. Apparently, Cannon & Ball couldn’t stand the sight of each other (let alone speak to each other off stage) for years. They were eventually reconciled, but it’s testament to the professionalism of acts like these that still interacted so well ‘in costume’
