It may be a seasonal thing but asking, *once again* rolleyes if it's time to ban sales of fireworks to public. Scenes in Islington on first linked video. The place would explode, pun unintentional, if AFO's fired back, especially if someone hit.
Second video of idiots putting fireworks through letterbox, again scummy London, but could be anywhere way things are going.
3rd one Birmingham supposedly

I guess if it's held in the hand (even in a secondary holder like a drain pipe) and aimed it could be called a firearm..otherwise it's an explosive.

I tend to fire mine skywards, but the occasional one has had a 'launch failure' and either exploded in the pipe, at a low altitude, or gone completely off course and exploded after it landed in the next field.

I prefer this sort of thing to bangers and roman candles (mine don't last long enough to be photographed)...

Crikey you're not messing about smile

I thought 10x Warhawks and 20x Sky Raiders was getting a bit excessive biggrin (We do have some cakes too, and electric igniters were a godsend last weekend too - though the chances of using the rest on the night at the moment are slim).

One year I had 25 Super-Blitznall aerial bangers go off within a couple of seconds of each other (manual lighting with a Rothy) - but was told never to use them again as 1) I was too close to neighbours houses, and 2) car/house alarms were going off.

Went to German ECO rockets for a few years until they disappeared, and now just go for a couple of dozen huge ones (of any make) and lots of smaller fillers.

So far it appears to be comments from firework buyers who one supposes would be against a ban.

No comments on the discharge of fireworks directly at police and passers by?

Personally someone deliberately fires a multi shot firework directly at me I would willingly deploy lethal force right back at them. Good job not an AFO/SFO.

Whether it's legally a firearm or not, I would not consider the use of a firearm against scum like that to be in anyway disproportionate.

In law a firearm is a lethal barralled weapon capable of discharging shot, a bullet or other missile.

Violence towards the Police should be met with overwhelming force.

Unfortunately we've created a ridiculous society where emotions are more important than rules and logic.

Is it just me or does anyone else think they are a dangerous, annoying waste of money?

No, not just you. Should be restricted to organised displays.

Just to update, that 3rd video was on Coventry Road, Yardley Birmingham.
The lit showroom premises were Platinum Executive Travel, supercar hire firm. Recognisable from the footage.

I was the subject of a rocket attack years ago.

I drove onto a sink estate and the lovely inhabitants were waiting. I was ambushed. Rockets fired at the police vehicle through a drainpipe. It was a half decent display, actually.

I didn't request an ARV. I just stayed in the car and drove towards them. They ran away.
They were out of ammo. Nobody died.

If somebody was threatening me with a firework it may be different but in these circumstances a tactical withdrawal is always an option.

Should we ban car sales to the public? more people injured by them every single day than are injured annually by fireworks.

Or just stop selling them at corner shops, supermarkets, or pop-up fireworks shops, and restrict sales to specialist retailers who require ID and a personal pyrotechnic licence.

As with guns, it won't stop miscreants getting/using them, but it will make it more difficult/expensive - and maybe with enough cut-throat cost-cutting at that end of the black market they'll lose a finger/hand when they try to light it.

A lot of people NEED a car, I don't believe any normal person (not even me, but I'm not normal...I'm speshul) NEEDS pyrotechnics.
