I was really shocked to hear the accusations on Good Morning this morning and surprised it has not had more of an airing.
If even half of it is true it's has potential for some very serious consequences.
Has it simply been pushed aside by the US elections or was it 'out there' previously - genuinely surprised at the lack of exposure, or have I simply missed it?

The Daily Mail has been all over it for a week or two. But their main is issue is not Bashir himself but that he was working for the BBC. If even half of it is true it's has potential for some very serious consequences.

what were the allegations ?
Short answer is that he lied (and fabricated 'evidence' of those lies) of things like Charles having an affair with Prince William's nanny, and the William was wearing a listening device to spy on Diana, that kind of thing to fuel her paranoia and get her to do the interview.FunkyNige said:

They stated that had she not done the Bashir interview she would not have been forced to divorce Charles when she did and she would have still had her HRH title/royal protection officers which would have meant she’d not have got into that car with Dodi.

"There is a very dark cloud hanging over BBC journalism," Lord Grade told Radio 4's World at One programme on Monday.
The issue is, why did it take Grade so long to realise the sunlight wasn't there? It's been cloudy for years,Beeb apologists still don't realise.
It's a Daily Mail link, but if there is any truth in some of the other allegations (Diana aside) in this article that is a massive can of worms that will be opened.
