Apparently fisherpeople is now a word and according to BBC replaces fisherman:-

I like Mr Deas's suggestion:
“If anyone feels the need to change the nomenclature, that’s easily resolved. In North East Scotland, where I’m from, they refer to ‘fishers’."

Seems a much easier solution and easier to say!

Easily resolved, all jobs titles should remove the ‘ men’ and use ‘mon’. Fishermen now is fishermon. ‘Mon’ being the description used for both men and women or should that be women and men.

I suspect she doesn't work on the trawlers much. I'd call her a manager rather than a fisher'person'.
