Now firstly let me point out this isn't about ICE vs Hybrid vs Electric, it's about how the government will gets it revenue in the furture.

Now at present the government is looking a road pricing at around £1.00 per mile but that will also mean they'll have to spend billions retro fitting GPS units into cars.

I think an easier way to do it would be to tax all cars stop exemptions & start clawing the money back.

Now in order to claw back the money the treasury will be losing from less fuel duty can easily be taken up by putting a levy on the electric that people charge their cars with.

This can be done when home charge stations are installed by having them on a different Meter so they can be on a different tariff.

Also with the rolling out of smart Meters they can install the second Meter at the same time ready for when households switch over to EV's.

This way there's no need for the Government to spend billions to get a road pricing scheme up & running therefore meaning the Government will actually have more income.

So my question to PH is am I missing something or has what I've said above make sense?

Big Al.
