TV presenter Jeremy Kyle "may have caused or contributed" to the death of a man who was found dead after filming an episode of his ITV show, a coroner has said.

JK has gone very silent since what happend. Do you think he will ever find work again?

His TV programme is sideshow point 'n' laugh gutter voyeurism with a thin veneer of concern splattered on the top. It has been about punching down from day one. If we never see him on TV again then it is no great loss as he contributes very little and should arguably contribute even less.

If nothing else, you have to ponder what an absolute weirdo he must be in real life; self-appointed arbiter of the Turkey Twizzler unterklassen, using a TV model lifted from the '90s shock-o-rama of Jerry Springer et al.

Was watching "Trial by Media" last night on Netflix, interesting story about a chap who killed a man after he came out as having a crush on him on live TV. Worth a watch, TV doesn't learn from its mistakes.

What always got me about the JK show on the odd occasion I was unfortunate enough to catch a minute or so of it, was why the hell anyone would agree to appear on it? Particularly if you were the one being accused of sleeping with your wife’s sister’s niece or whatever.

And if I had JK shouting in my face like he appeared to do quite often to people who had been judged to be in the wrong, I’d tell him to F-off and walk out

Not sure I can apportion too much blame to Kyle. Apparently there were 3,320 of that dogst show he used to do. It seems most people managed to get over failing a lie detector test.

I expect out of the demographic he had on the show you'd expect an above average number of male suicides by default.

On a happier note, here's him getting hit in the head by a card: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPGXp8_KY84&ab...

There is a very interesting video on YouTube where the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport grill the ITV boss, the show producer and the show doctor/mental health expert, at the inquiry into the practices of the Jeremy Kyle show. The death of Steve Dymonds had already occurred at this point.

It’s a long video, but I found it fascinating. Worth a watch, the amount of question dodging by the three under scrutiny clearly shows they knew they’d paddle themselves up st creek, knew their show was morally wrong and knew that they deliberately preyed on “guests” who’d make popular TV, based on their low intellect and vulnerability. I’m reluctant to say “good TV”, because it wasn’t good, it was utter trash, spewed out by sleazy, greasy corporate morons.

No, but, they could well have been coerced to attend on the promise of various things. As you say, they were average or below members of society who may not have known quite what they were getting themselves in to or what could happen to them.

I understand there was some level of 'aftercare' for the people being put on show. How good that was, how well it was utilised and whether those receiving the aftercare could carry it forward (considering that some of the issues probably required a lot of follow on work to actually sort) is unknown to me.

I consider the majority of people appearing on shows like this to be victims.

Nonsense
They are not that thick. They are adults who know what they were doing in exchange for a few quid

I don’t think you’ve met the type of people who went on the show.

Some with MH issues, substance addictions. Dropped out of school. Can barely read and write. Parents the same.

true but I’ve seen them on the show on various YouTube clips and most of them are pretty gobby and aggressive. outcome should be interesting.

People kill themselves all the time.

Do wives, girlfriends get named in court for breaking up with some guy who jumped off a roof because they cheated?

Do bosses get hauled to court for working some poor sap too hard.

Do banks shut down and never work again because some guy is in dept.

The guy obviously had issues and probably stty life before he went wilfully on that show.

This seems extremely petty.

God help that judge rinder guy he’s pretty mean to people.

It's a shame the Jeremy Kyle show was cancelled. I was not a regular watcher but watched the odd episode over a decade ago when I was sitting round the common room at sixth form. Seeing the selection of dregs and criminals at each other's throats with Kyle goading them on and then chastising them always made for entertaining viewing, more so than Loose Women or whatever ste replaced it.

80% of the worlds population is of below average intelligence. JK is a tosser imo and should at least be removed from tv, from society would be a bonus.
