Mayor says residents, known as fkingers, ‘have had enough of visitors and their bad jokes’

That'll be the end of stolen town signs and the popular fking Hell beer...

It's a shame; a little less idiosyncrasy in the world. Though to be fair, I can understand the decision and I probably haven't helped the situation over the years...

I'm honestly not sure if Fugging will improve the situation. Just sounds as if they want to surpass the swear filter.

I assume this village will be next.

(I'll let you guess that one, but it's one of my favourite places in Germany)

Have to say Germany and Austria have some absolutely spectacular countryside. You can see why people like going there. Not sure about the last pic though!

Seems to be some very well managed forestry in that region of Germany. I’m sure it’s appreciated by all who visit - even in inclement weather ...

Is that Cöckwümbel? I thought that was in Austria?

The residents of Nether stlington in Yorks didn't wait that long, they had the name changed ages ago.
It's now just Netherton.

When we were looking at moving, my wife refused to even view what appeared to be a lovely house in Worlds End Lane, Pratts Bottom.

I was disappointed to learn that Magpie Lane in Oxford used to be called Grope Lane. Even more so when I found out that this was not some strange Middle English or Norse word that had a totally different name, but was where prostitution used to be common.

wk's a bit further away, by itself, although it does have the wkbahn, which can take you to the top of Germany's tallest mountain.
€15 for a ride, €30 to go both ways. I find the concept of a family discount ticket disconcerting, but it exists.
They even have an annual mount wk pass, if you like doing it all the time.

Petting, Titmoning and fking are all within a few minutes of each other. Lovely part of the world. Took my missus there last year.

Also nearby, but not funny, is the Porsche family museum, in Mattsee. Full of Porsche tractors and whatnot -- and completely separate from the Porsche museum over in Zuffenhausen.

Next time you're there, I recommend to get up to the wk House near the climax of Mount wk.

This thread is descending into madness! Have been to Germany and Austria a good few times but never to any of these places!
