VAT 2021

My understanding was the sales tax, later renamed VAT was introduced when we joined Europe as a way to pay our contribution to the club.

The obvious question is......will VAT Stop on 01 Jan 2021.

I am pretty sure I know the answer, however I have not seen this raised in the media nor any social platforms.

If anything it could well go up in future to pay off COVID debts.

We all know the answer i think.

In fairness, before VAT we did have purchase tax. IIRC that was at lots of different levels of tax depending on the perceived luxury level of the goods involved.

Not sure VAT was introduced to pay our contribution to the club.
