Empty hospital in Gloucester
Discussion
I came across this story in several newspapers: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9101999/A...
Is the Gloucester Royal (or parts of it) really empty?
The video seems pretty compelling but Gloucester does have a relatively low infection rate (461/100K) so I suppose that the are filmed may be being held in reserve.
Does anyone have first hand experience?

Link to the map, she walked around the ground floor of the out patients wing on a bank holiday.

Wards are as per the map on the upper floors of the main block.
I’d be worried about capacity if an out patients wing was full of COVID in patients.
Can you remember ever having an out patient appointment on a bank holiday? The video on Facebook was imho almost intended get a reaction. She could have walked up stairs and filmed an actual ward but didn’t, might be full might be empty. But she didn’t.

Much like that other prat who was arrested for filming empty corridors in another hospital. I don't know why people are wanting to see COVID patients left in hallways or out patient waiting areas as an indication of how full the ICU area is. Edit to ad, I live in Stroud and have to put up with Debbie Hicks & other gang of nutters regularly trying to hold anti lock down/anti government protests in the park across the road from me.

more of her antics

she also made a prat of herself after the Manchester Bombing saying “I can’t help thinking that this is wonderful timing for Theresa May”. which didn't go down very well

Stroud has some lovely areas, but does seem to attract fruitloops!

So she was arrestednfor filming an empty space, yes? Arrested. By the police.
No, she was arrested for public order offences. It is unclear if those offences relate to her actions in the hospital or something else, such as her subsequent behaviour with the police. It’s not unusual for people to be arrested for public order offences after kicking off at the police.CubanPete said:

Popped to the market and there was a guy chanting "Hummm" in protest over the treatment of Tibetan Monks, a green party member holding a vigil over the deaths' caused by car pollution, and the meat is murder lot were out as well... as I walked past discussing loudly with my wife the best way to cook tonights tomahawk steak... My friend works in the same hospital where the bell-ends were booted out.
There are people of all ages in the covid wards and many never leave.
On the one hand I applaud the NHS’s efforts to allow the patients dignity and privacy, but I wonder if people should be shown what’s really happening?
It might silence the conspiracy theorists.

We had a similar person in MK the other day shouting the wards are empty while one of the news companies was filming, friend of mine has been in over Christmas (hes mid 30's) and can confirm far from empty.
The problem with this is it's feeding the fruitloops to go into a frenzy and bang on about conspiracy theories because they're not seeing the bodies in the corridors that the media (DM and The SUN I'm looking at you) keeps telling them exist there. In reality the ward is being filled in MK or Northants (which is full) and they're calling Daventry or Kettering or Wellingborough to ask for space. Not everywhere's covid ward is at complete capacity and we are a Nation where if we did get overrun we would expand the ward or open a temporary hospital rather than treating people in corridors. I wish these people got less air time because I know it's having a knock on effect towards NHS workers who truly are amazing people.

Some within society have less than zero f
ks to give when it comes to other's suffering, or the reality of the situation, if it means what ever is happening doesn't affect them first hand.I know of numerous people now who have been close to death from the virus. They themselves mentioned it is a horrifying experience being on oxygen struggling to breath and watching people in beds on the left, right and in front of them dying, with a feeling that you only have a few minutes or a few hours left to live of your own. The experience they describe is something that should be properly shoved down the throats of all these conspiracy fools and also those who couldn't give a t0ss about spreading the virus on to others.

When I explain that I have had the vaccine and am fine, I mainly get the following two main responses - " you have been given a placebo" or "its early days yet!"
Then we get the COVID false positive test brigade and the general anti-vaccination crowd - again i try explain that in hospital we have more clinical "issues" with false negative - ie patients who test negative who are obviously positive from the clinical symptoms, chest X Ray etc - I try explain that patients test positive if tested within the "right" timeframe - which is why some wards keep testing the same negative patients because they are utterly convinced patient has COVID.
For the general antivaccination crowd, they need to compare vaccination with no vaccination and to do that, they need to go to the third world and see kids dying of measles, chicken pox, etc and then they can compare properly. sadly nothing will convince these people.

Mrs Harpoon is an NHS Paediatric Dietitian. The vast majority of her out patient clinics have changed from in person to telephone [1], so the Children's out patient area at her hospital has few visitors, even during the week now. Some patients with complex cases do still attend if being seen by multiple people but they are the exception these days. I expect you could film some empty NHS buildings / rooms at a lot of hospitals right now.https://www.gloshospitals.nhs.uk/media/documents/G...

Mrs H's sister is a NHS Physio. Even some of her OP work is now done over the phone or via video calls.
Has a group been so vocally wrong about anything before than the covid denying 'scamdemic' 'casedemic' nutter lot?
Had a similar filmed visit to two hospitals near one of my bases, both badly affected on capacity for covid treatment but claim was 'empty'. Utterly thick and lapped up on social media by those brainwashed over the last few months by the echo chambers they have opted into.

So when long running comedy series "The News" film an ambulance waiting on some double yellow lines it's a crisis and we're all meant to panic. When someone points out that a hospital isn't actually overflowing with marathon runners dying of asymptomatic long covid it's irresponsible fake news.
