This machine was highlighted in a BBC East Anglia television clip about two years ago, Very impressive bit of kit.

I'd love one, just to drive around in with no attachment.

Cynic!

I hear Highways Agency and Amey have put a lot of work into the black treacle and Rice Krispies recipe to make it was a week or two longer.

Whilst we're locked down and the roads are less busy, why not get these machines out and fill the pot holes??

I did some work with this company over 10 years back. Its shame they haven't gained more work: http://www.nuphalt.com/

No money in solving the problem first time when you could charge to do it badly 3 or 5 times?

TBF our local highways dept have done a bit of that. Particularly enterprising during first lockdown in fact.

A lot of roads are in such a state now they need rebuilding not resurfacing or patching.

If that thing slaps in a patch it'd probably have been spat back out of the hole inside a week.

True. They are too narrow for the traffic they receive and the size of modern cars, especially if we want to safely encourage more journeys to be made by bicycle.

O/T talking of replacing roads, one of the most impressive things I've seen was, back when the A50 Uttoxeter-Derby was being converted to dual carriageway, a 70 tonne CAT 245 excavator, with a ripper tooth, slowly tracking along and pulling up the whole carriageway.

That gave me a laugh, cheers.

Just think. People could buy these and form vigilate groups, covertly improving the roads after dark...

Our local council use the spray patch repair machine, and so far, a couple on the main road have stayed intact, and they were quite substantial.

I can't say I've noticed any noticeable drop off in traffic levels on my commute so far.

Bingo. Same reason they never seal the joints after resufacing or major patching work. So its guranteed to fail in short order = more business.

My local council's getting one of these!

I look forward to seeing the results, here hoping they last more than a month! smile

Not true. It’s because of the slip-risk to motorcycles. Still bks though.
