I think within the next 10 years we will have conquered the week and crumbling EU. Starting with economic domination.

Then strike down the USA whilst they recover from the instability of Trump. Sweeping South with hell fire to take South America.

China will stand back and let it happen, not realising they are next.

The post Brexit empire will be complete with King Charles at the helm. Naturally Harty and Meghan will be forced to have a live battle royale with spoons to survive.

As history is written by the victors it will be called the great unification.

So you must be realistic then.

Very optimistic!

Pessimism is a wasteful emotion.

Briilliant!

The biggest risk to the UK going forward is the terminal pessimism, self loathing and lack of belief that seems to manifest itself in large swathes of the population the MSM, BBC etc., it's so destructive and utterly baffling.

It's almost as if many are willing us to fail.

Came to say exactly the same - we seem to be losing our sense of humour too, want to ban and cancel things that people don't personally agree with etc, as well as double standards - SNP get away with murder but any semblance of English pride is hated (the clue is in the 'N' in SNP). I'm Northern Irish by the way so don't have any particular skin in that game smile

I'm not sure the union will survive - the extremists seem to be taking over..

Of course...good news isn't news and doesn't sell. As humans we prefer to hear bad news. So that's what the MSM feed us, and most lap it up not realising it.

I don’t get why an island nation surrounded by fish would voluntarily choose to make exporting said fish to its nearest neighbours… Even more so when a good few of those neighbours are in landlocked countries and order fish from us…

Optimistic - though admittedly, I sometimes don’t know how

Definitely optimistic.

Back to being able to do whatever suits us rather than pandering to the whims of numerous other countries.

Pessimistic.

I'm not optimistic that Brexit will unleash a golden age.

But I'm not pessimistic that it will ruin the country either.

I am pessimistic that the country is run by a bunch of people who continually show incompetence and corruption.

Used to care, now couldn't care less what the future holds for the UK as long as my family and friends are OK. If anything, i think the UK breaking up into individual countries is inevitable and perhaps desirable.

Yes, so much cynicism, negativity, moaning and self loathing.

It is acceptable to sometimes just take things on face value and try and enjoy stuff.

Humans are adaptable and resourceful we will be fine, two years down the line we will have largely reverted to how things were.

An optimistic person thinks the glass is half full
A pessimistic person thinks the glass is half empty.
A Tory govt minister places an order for 50m new glasses with a major party donor who runs a completely different type of business and when they don't turn up, blames the EU and asylum seekers.

Wartime comparisons usually come unstuck when discussing the pandemic.

So here’s mine. I feel that after this, there will be a determination to live life and enjoy things, much like there must have been when the war ended.

There will be a lot of devastation and debt but people will want to look forward.

It will be a slow slog, with a good few problems along the way but there are enough optimists and realists to make it work. There's a lot to do post-EU and it may take 5-10 years before most accept that it was clearly the right thing to do.

I ceased being optimistic about the UK when 52% voted to leave the EU. As i posted above I literally dont care about the UK any more. Look at the state of johnson and his cronies ffs. IMO its hardly surprising that remainers ("large swathes") might be pessimistic and frankly its up to leavers to prove them wrong.
