US police car rams innocent bystanders......

...is what I think we’re supposed to react to, from the headline.
What shocking, abysmal reporting from.... oh wait.
But at least the article goes on to remind us all that
Also: wow, America. What a place.

US police vehicle ploughs into crowd
Yeah actually a crowd of people surrounded a cop car, containing a fearful cop, and started trashing it. Video evidence corroborates. Crowd is clearly supportive of, or enthused by the act. Cop does the smart thing and hoofs it rather than have the proverbial shyte beat out of him/her. Crowd members get hurt. Then crowd members act shocked. Next up: victim compensation. But at least the article goes on to remind us all that

Honestly I believe this kind of disingenuous, weasely, presumptive, biased reporting is doing so much harm. I hope something comes out to prove that I’m wrong and the media is being fair and balanced, I’d rather be embarrassed. If not, why not say ‘crowd vandalising police vehicle and threatening the safety/life of the police officer inside suffer unpleasant yet predictable consequences’? Why present the police as being in the wrong, especially if/when not all the facts are 100% known? Also: wow, America. What a place.

The video appears to show a police officer flooring it in a crowd. What’s unclear is why he seems to smash his foot in to the floor rather than accelerating with more care. What shocking, abysmal reporting from.... oh wait.

Fear might be a reasonable conclusion. Obviously we don't know the full facts as to why the officer did that but if the commentary is correct then his actions, on the face of it, seem reasonable. I am constantly staggered by the number of people, especially Americans for some reason, who seem to think that they have a perfect right to antagonise the police and then express surprise when they or their mates get shot, hit, Tazered, or in this case run over. I mean, logically what tf did a bunch of people attending an illegal and obviously dangerous event think might happen when the cops turned up and why tf did they think it a clever idea to surround a police car and put the occupants in fear of their safety? Its the BBC.
Strange how BBC bashing is a sportWhen every other news channel reported it in much the same way.
Weird.
Why do people always say "Well all the other news outlets do it, why pick on the BBC?"
The BBC is basically our trusted state broadcaster (which the people are forced to fund) and yet look at what it has turned into! The flaws in the BBC are so clear for all to see, why don't they hurry the fk up and fix it?

Because it would be tainted with partiality, incorrect, insensitive, too long, and grammatically substandard. The BBC headline is none of those things.TheInternet said:
