Sorry for the London centric thread, I was driving past city airport the other day and saw a fella in a sharp suit
Posing on the roof of a bus pointing towards the airport, turns out he is Brian rose and is running for mayor of London this year. Having never heard of him I was wondering what anyone else’s opinions were ?

Not in london and havn't been for a while. But I also have not heard from him.

But a bit of googling shows him to be a retard who thinks 5g causes covid.

Allegedly he also was a top investment banker in London and America. I wonder what level of intelligence you need to do that job after reading that.

Someone who peddles misinformation about COVID-19 on podcasts, and an American. He'll go far. Probably hasn't a clue about London, it's environs or transport needs. No doubt thinks Potters Bar is a snooker club, and Arriva is Italian for "goodbye".

I had no idea who he was either, this will go well

Investment banking is proof that ability is meaningless next to the right school and the right parents.

His website is hilarious...his priorities are Health First...Science First...Education First...Green First...Digital First...etc...etc.

What nonsense; how can they all be first?!

The “make London safe” section makes me think not:

“Pursuing new community-led crime prevention strategies to address the causes of crime (rather than simply focussing on the outcomes) by launching new programs to offer our young people positive pathways, thus addressing the burgeoning issues of gang culture and the exploitation of children through county lines
...
Implement an ambitious diversity representation strategy in the Metropolitan Police to build a force reflective of the communities it serves, ensuring that all races, religions, and genders are proportionately represented”

Judged on his attire, he's not been in banking since 1987, or whenever Chalk stripe died off (thankfully). And the tie? Its wide enough to be Kim Kadashians thong!

Banking careers have many abilities and areas of specialisation, his probably ended in Minsters / Minories around 1992 after getting caught rogering the office bike or his bosses wife.

Its a no. I didn't even get to the policies.

He’s a con man.

Has been one of the YouTube “I can make you rich” charlatans for some time, and has been running a channel called London Real.... which had content removed by YouTube at the start of Covid due to either denying its real or saying it’s caused by 5g, with David Icke.

Brian crowdfunded a lot of money from supporters after this to start his own platform, but nothing ever came of it (where’s the money??)

Been following him for quite a while. The guy is a total nob. But so is Boris and Khan.

His London Real channel used to be good IMO. I'm into martial arts, and he had interviews with prominent fighters then progressed to other interesting people, including quite a few businessmen.

He had an American oil guy - Dan Pena (The Billion Dollar Man) on a few times who's a self-styled business guru on who runs training courses on how to be successful. Rose then went on Pena's course and video'd the process.

Since then he's gone from an authentic T shirt and jeans person to the expensive suit wearing, conspiracy theorist, money grabbing toad. If you want to watch any London Real videos you have to subscribe, which means you get bombarded with sales emails.

Rory Stewart was going to be the only one I'd have voted for, it's a shame that he's dropped/been forced out (probably as he would have taken votes from the Tory candidate).

imo the mayor should be scrapped, London seemed to work better beforehand.

I thought he had left the tory party?

No mayor would trump Khan all day long yes. A void is more effective at getting things done than Khan, less offensive, and even more thoughtful.

The party left him, or at least the withdrawal of the whip effectively meant he couldn't stand for re-election in 2019. Campaigning costs are cited as the reason for dropping out, although given his campaign was of a guerrilla nature with him walking about and meeting the public at random I don't really follow the argument, perhaps he got fed up with it and wanted a less st job that actually paid a wage. He was getting quite good odds for a while.

The guy is a fraudster.

He took over 1 million in donations to create a new uncensored video platform and then just used Daily Motion but put his own front end in place to make it look like it was a stand alone platform. This Youtuber has a few videos about the guy.

Complete sleaze. How anyone is fooled by him is beyond me, everything about him, from how he speaks to how he looks says slimy bd.

What’s the consensus on Khan as mayor?

I don’t live in London, haven’t had to visit since at least 2017 and generally avoid it as much as possible. I tend to keep my woffer out of London’s affairs, so other than knowing Khan is mayor, I’m not really up to speed with whether he’s done a decent job or not. Anyone have any particular experiences of his tenure?

I quite liked him as he kept his head down and didn't get involved in big, new visible schemes (I'm sure someone will prove me wrong).

Since Covid came along, as someone who works in central London but lives on the fringe of it I might as well be in another county now. London is a distant memory to me.,
