Yes, there is a thread for the originally missing and now very sadly confirmed murdered Sarah Everard - But the possibility of vigils, not only in Clapham, but in various towns across the UK - Should they go ahead?

Not necessary and against current Covid regulations. But I'm male, so my opinion is worthless.

No. It’s disgusting that political activists are using her death as a tool.

No, they serve no real purpose but can act as a focus for the transmission of disease.
That having been said the Traveller funerals with congregations of ~500 unmasked revellers should also have been prevented from happening, rather than being supported by the Police. But, you know, they're a protected ethnic group.

Shouldn't be allowed, will just turn into a festival of the sun's out and encourage other mass participation events.

No. Thousands of people haven’t even been able to attend direct loved ones funerals. Why should this be allowed to happen ?

I don’t really see the point of them but if people get to have a mass participation event that sounds good. I think it will be used as an excuse to party and that is well needed after a year of restrictions.

Black Lives Matter - Approved!

Feminist Vigil - Approved!

Protest against the destruction of our economy, society and civil liberties - Denied due to Covid!

To answer the question - yes, all of the above should be allowed.

Many people advocating for this vigil also advocate for a curfew on all men to reduce the risk to females.
