What is the PH view of Britannia being portrayed as a 'woman of colour'? PC gone mad? Appropriate sign of the times?

Well this is only going on limited addition gold and silver coins, so I don't suppose it's getting close to 3% of total coinage.
I don't mind a bit of this sort of thing going on because there really are British people that aren't white, and it's not like Brittania is a historical figure that needs to be faithfully represented as a white woman.

Meh, it's an irrelevant coin, who cares?
If it makes people feel important and that they're progresive, then bless em....let them have their day.

Plus we’ve done the same with non-white make believe characters for years. Jesus Christ for example who was more than likely brown, but you’d believe him to be a white hippy if you read the bible.

That's not really surprising though, in an age where most people would have gone their entire lives without seeing someone of a different race, he was going to be portrayed as white in European art.
Since he was born in Bethlehem to a Jewish family, perhaps he would have had the similar olive skin tone to modern day Israelis?? That could be a bit awkward for Guardian readers....Britannia isn't an English woman, she's a multi-racial embodiment of Britain's strength, particularly associated with naval power. Can you tell I've just been looking this up on the internet?
Some people seem to think that until recently, Britain was all about borders and white "British" people when we were actually all about invasions, the empire and stuff like that. That's the real history of Britain and I think it should be embraced.
