XR and BLM in there too. Police van on fire and currently smashing windows of the police station.

I am embarrassed to live here sometimes.

The organisers called it a “Kill The Bill” demonstration. Of course this choice of wording was purely coincidental and not provocative in any way rolleyes

Once pubs are open and uni is on campus this lot will quieten back down. I didn't see many of them protesting when it was minus 18 degrees and 2 foot drifts across the country.

Genius, rioting against a bill that would stop their rioting thereby providing complete justification for the bill. They are not very bright are they.
rolleyes

I doubt it. They will back to their Friday strikes again. The amount of protests in Bristol has to be seen to be believed.

My 21 year old neice is doing her training at the moment to join the Police. She doesn't take any crap, but I dread her getting caught up in something like this.

I am so glad we moved out of offices overlooking College Green. Lovely place when there were no protests but that was becoming increasingly uncommon.

I'm waiting for our local XR rep to pipe up on Facebook with the justification for it. Although pretty certain he will be there.

Bristol is a st hole. Lived here all my life and if i could persuade the Mrs to find somewhere else to work and let me move the kids to another school we would be long gone. Labour Mayor has destroyed this city. He “buys” votes from students whilst continuing to raise Council Tax to pay for his failed hobbies. Millions on a stupid bus. Roads closed with massive detours for no reason. £40 million wasted on Bristol Energy. Millions wasted on the arena. Millions on new student accommodation whilst claiming that there will be affordable housing. All of this is his fault. It started in the summer when the police kneeled and allowed the BLM mob to push over a statue. They are seen as soft. Both Marvin Rees and Alex Beresford the weather man will be on the tele soon saying all of this was fine and acceptable

And to top off my Evening the copper chopper is out making my windows vibrate

Our office is opposite the police station. I expect we will have a few broken windows and some graffiti too.

If this were Europe it would be water canon and tear gas
Quick dispersal and little damage
Peaceful protest is one thing, smashing up public property is another and is unacceptable

Completely agree. BLM and XR have had free reign in Bristol. You couldn't make up some of the crap Rees puts through.

I moved here in 1999 but have never lived IN the city, always just outside it which suits me fine. The gormless mayor's latest ego trip is to start planning on an underground system for the city, it's a complete non-starter. I'm 52 but will be long gone before that ever sees the light of day. Just an utter waste of time from a censored

Annoyingly there seems to be very little in the way of consequences IF these little sts get caught.

Smiler.

Yeah, but Tarquin read on twitter from Labour that Boris had stolen his freedom, so it's only fair that he smashes up, then sets fire to a police van.

When some nasty white male says something that offends Tarquin's safe space, who they gonna call?

Not Ghostbusters.
