Hilarious. I can't wait. This is bound to get really messy.ElectricSoup said:
Well even if they get into the Scottish Parliament and deny the SNP a majority, they're hardly going to oppose independence moves are they? There remains the strong possibilty of a pro-independence majority in the Parliament at the next election.
Stronger chance now if the Scottish PR system works anything like it does in NI. More choice means more turnout and more transfers unless they're transfer toxic to each other's vote.In NI unionists parties have always had a statistical advantage over nationalists as unionist voters have a larger number of parties to vote for.

It wasnt the best
almost as good as the MatsusIt wasnt the best
ta CD player I hadI remember my saisho double cassette player with fondness...think it was like 0.5w per channel.
I even had a saisho personal FM/am "radio". So it looked a bit like a Walkman, but you could only listen to the radio (with an utterly crud signal).
We had it hard in them days.. surprised I didn't call childline.
Anyway, back on topic
Suspect if salmon's new party joined another breakaway party called "tross", that might make a semi decent name for his party.

He’s really becoming the Scottish farage. No chance of winning anything, a figure from the past but still seeking the attention and in it for personal vanity.
I'm not fully au fait with their system, but if his tactic works he could well be the figurehead of the indie referendum.Hashtaggggg said:
Can you explain how the system works etc,
Not really!Basically there are two lists of candidates.
One on a traditional constituency basis and another for regions. Alba are only standing in the regions and not against the SNP in the constituencies.
You have a second vote so nationalists can now transfer their second vote to a nationalist candidate.
I *think* the theory is that instead of splitting the pro independxe vote it actually strengthens it as they can now vote entirely for nationalist parties and that it could well result in a thumping pro-indie majority, allowing Salmond to give it large arguing for a referendum and during any subsequent referendum. And to stick it to NS whilst he is at it, even though she with still be first minister.
(I only got this from a radio report when I was going to the shop before. The presenter thought it was going to split the vote but the "expert" begged to differ.)
