England players took the knee again for the qualifier against Poland. Anti - racism. What about human rights in general. Taking the knee before a match to gain the right to compete in Quatar.

6500 migrant workers estimated to have died since Quatar won the right to host the cup.

Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar and theoretically punishable by death.

Taking the knee for racism but happy to play in a country where thousands of migrants were killed building the stadium and being gay could get you executed. I can't see the logic.

Since when did political correctness have anything to do with logic?

Definitely, make a stand, drive home the point.

After all they're never going to win it anyway.

Qatar. A complete dump built on the human suffering of hundreds of thousands of Asian labourers.
Inbred, homophobic, racist and paternalistic locals who have zero morals.
The WC was bought with dollars and the labourers have paid with their lives.
I speak from my experience of working for a local company out there.
No better than Saudi or any of the ME countries.

...not to mention the carbon footprint! We`re in the midst of a terrifying global heating emergency and we`re playing football. Football. Look out the window, FFS.

Not as if it's unique to football. Look how the NBA paints BLM slogans on its courts, but fell over themselves grovelling to China when one of their players criticised their actions in Hong Kong. Or Lewis Hamilton wearing a chain to symbolise his oppression, then stating he doesn't know enough about Saudi Arabia to comment on their human rights. If it happens anywhere aside from Western Europe, America or Israel, it doesn't count.

I won't be having money on it but it's not out of the question. We're better than we were at the last WC and we came 4th then.

This.

Football has been morally bankrupt for a long time, and most other sports (F1, Boxing) are only just catching up.

Israel. No human rights abuses to report there
