More tragedy for Minneapolis.

A traffic stop had identified the driver as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect re entered their vehicle and drove off, but not before being fatally wounded by one of the officer's, crashing a short while later.

Community not happy. National guard already on standby due to the nearby trial of Derek Chauvin.

I’m curious why no website will say what his outstanding warrant was for.

Reports coming out that it was a stolen vehicle that he took at gun point, multiple bystanders reported he was brandishing the firearm during his arrest.

Warrants had been issued for his arrest due to dealing Marijuana & being disorderly and failing to attend court.

Previous arrests were for aggravated robbery, trespass, controlled substances/narcotics, weapons

Looks like he had quite a few brushes with the law in 2019/2020.

Actually came from his mother

Daunte Wright’s mother, Katie, said her son had called her while the incident was ongoing. He told her he had been pulled over by police because of the "air fresheners hanging from his rear-view mirror".

She then heard some kind of scuffle before the line went dead.

"A minute later, I called and his girlfriend answered, who was the passenger in the car, and said that he'd been shot... and my son was laying there lifeless”, she told local Minneapolis newspaper, the StarTribune.

So, not why he was stopped then.

It's comical isn't it.

A bit like the instant looting that took place.

Such a strange world we now inhabit.

It seems half of humanity has (to a degree) transcended nature and pushes scientific boundaries and the other half seem dead set on abandoming civilisation and regressing to being pack animals.

I don't think there is enough money in the world to be a cop in America. While I am sure there are some horrible ones, when things like this happen (few days ago) I can't help but have a little sympathy for them

This doesn't show it but I saw the shooting elsewhere, definition of cold blood.

Will wait to see all the details before making a judgement but I still struggle with the narrative that someone gets shot just because they are black.

BLM will paint him out to be a saint and talk about his kid will grow up without a father. Even though chances are he wasn't around for the kid anyway.

The gofundme will start soon i'm sure.

Policing in the US is very dangerous

So far this year 15 officers have been shot dead a number as a result of routine traffic stops

Below is a still from a video of the demise of a New Mexico officer Darian Jarrett

He stopped a white pickup on I 10 the driver produced an assault rifle and executed the officer

He was subsequently involved in a. Shoot out with other officers and killed

Some express surprise that US Cops are jumpy when they stop cars ...

You mention previous arrests- were there previous convictions or was he found not guilty? That seems a reasonable & relevant question.

Also the only thing that matters here is whether or nor his fatal shootting was justified, not unconnected events in the past.

It looks like some of the charges he got bail for. He was released from custody for CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE/NARCOTICS, WEAPONS arrest. His most recent Aggravated robbery charge in Feb 2021 states "hold without bail". Clearly that was not the case if he was driving around.

Past events have some impact on the way an officer proceeds with someone. If they are aware the person has arrest warrants (which they were at the time) and the person has been brought in for weapons charges then it may impact their decisions with that knowledge.

So not actually guilty of any crime at the time he was shot?

He had an outstanding arrest warrant, resisted arrest and decided to flee.

If you want to go and investigate his rap sheet the internet is there for you to do so.
