Wonder why there’s no assault charge.
Does seem strange from the info on the website. Perhaps there's more.

A quote:

"Immediately resorting to use of force without considering other de-escalation tactics, and particularly where the person involved has mental health issues, is of concern."

Sounds almost American.

Black girl too , she should be thankful he didn’t take a selfie afterwards!

Blatant anti white racism from her defence, totally unnecessary. "There have been too many cases of disproportionate force being used by police officers upon members of the black community." Who’d be a copper nowadays. She must have been difficult to deal with if the second copper tased her.

It’s not her defence, it’s her family. She was vulnerable girl with serious mental health problems who was dealt with in a totally inappropriate manner.

However I don’t disagree with the immediate jump to make it about race and ignore the way people with disabilities are often treated by society and the police.

If she was so vulnerable how did she find herself alone on the streets of London ?

Are the police trained in how to deal with non cooperative black people with mental health issues?

Presume they didn't think it meets the threshold for that but it does meet the threshold for "you're not fit to be a Police Officer"?

Quite ... more proof that mental health care has a long way to go before its fit for purpose and that the police aren't really social workers they are police ...

Surely a black girl should be dealt with in the same way as a white girl?

And I don’t doubt this officer would have done the same if she was white.

It was her solicitor that made the comments, about whitey and the black ‘community’ . Some iopc suit wearer sitting behind a desk saying other ‘de- escalation’ techniques should have been used. Doesn’t cut much mustard in the real world. Yet another individual refusing to be detained and then refusing to be cuffed, this is now normal for police work it seems.

Not sure it's in the BBC article but his Chief Superintendent said "He overreacted, used excessive force in a very disproportionate manner, and was unprofessional. For that he has been held to account, and has been rightly dismissed from the service.".

The panel have seen and heard all the evidence and reached to the conclusion this chap isn't fit to be a Police Officer.

Another bad apple out.

I was thinking of mentioning this, as I saw yesterday some police in the Midlands were found guilty of lying about assaulting a bloke.

They turned off their cameras and lied to cover up the guy that did the actual assault.

So it's good to see these things reported.

Yes, it is a bit sad the solicitor wouldn't put away the race card even after the judge ruled it was not driven by racism.

Another judge last week also ruled that the home office were not racist, despite losing their case brought on behalf of a 5 y o boy.

I can only assume victims (and their) solicitors throw everything and the kitchen sink at a court case, and hope enough of it sticks.

Judges must get pissed off with having to wade through the nonsense just to get to the "facts".

But their lived experience is they are victims of racism, so hey ho.

Does that not concern you?

A police officer immediately jumps to assaulting a teenage girl with learning disabilities and the general consensus in here seems to be that it's fine because he'd have done the same thing to a white person.

I think the consensus is a sense of relief that this incompetent thug isn't a racist.

The point was this is not about colour.
