Could not find a thread on this... Despite the polls suggesting an easy win for Khan, I am hearing whispers that it might be far closer than has been suggested. Is it possible that we could have a change of Mayor?

With 23% of the vote counted Khan and Bailey are both on 38%. This seems unlikely, but has at least piqued my interest.

I think the first two wards were Tory strongholds so it's not surprising that Bailey took an early lead.

Still, it'll be good if can give Kahn a bit of run as he seems to me to be a very ineffective mayor. BoJo was good at branding London and promoting it globally. Much to my surprise he was really good at that.

I haven't got a clue what Kahn stands for or believes in. Or what he thinks London is or could be. A major disappointment.

What does that first bit even mean? And what noticeable difference does someone as irrelevant as London Mayor make to anything outside of London itself?

Re the latter, I imagine you'd find out if you looked.

Bojo was (is) good at promoting one thing only; himself. The fact that he was LM at the time was incidental.

It seems that London will end up Labour again, and yet Labour continue to suffer elsewhere.

I’m sure Khan will find some extra postal votes at the last minute paperbag

Agreed. I think the Ballot boxes from Burnley are being couriered down in the cash & carry vans.

Surely no-one actually voted for Fox? He’s so obviously a massive throbber.
My hope is that's the surprise

Labour think it's in the bag and people quietly vote Khan out

I can dream

I don't give a st about what anyone outside London thinks abut who is or isn't mayor here but you are welcome to the vast tax surplus that gets spread across the rest of the country.

I don’t live in London and don’t particularly like Bailey however, and I know it’s an overused cliche but, I think Twitter may finally explode if he wins.

hehe
