Right then, let's start a new thread.
Are we having the carrot dangled in front of us again, like they have for the last 15 months.
Let's see what happens in the next 4 weeks...

You should have added a poll like the thread on the June 21st reopening.
482 PHs voted in that poll and 88% (inc me) were right saying it wouldn't go ahead.

Won't happen - we will be on to the African variant by then, very contagious kills absolutely no one but #cases matter it seems.

Probably, maybe might happen. School holidays for all, eat out to help out II (this time we really mean it, for us), then 2-6 weeks to whip up the Autumn is nearly Winter NHS can't cope panic, offices are back and we're off again.

Good sign (for now) - minor rumblings on furlough not continuing, for now.

Bad signs - Same woefully bad models from 'The Science' (TM). Although slowly shifting away from 4k deaths per day to levels of positive tests not yet seen, completely at odds with anywhere.

If it doesn't happen, it will be even more of people doing 29 (or whatever) for the few seconds they might be within radar of someone who probably doesn't give a st 99% of the time). Then an ever increasing pool of people, the equivalent of Brake, will behave inversely.

If this date doesn’t happen it won’t happen at all this side of spring 22. Delaying today was unnecessary and sheer cowardice but you could see the draw of the 4 week period of vaccines plus the end of summer term was too tempting to pass up. In my opinion no matter what he does now he’s blown it and wasted the successful vaccine rollout, his only success in a seat of utter failure and ineptitude.

Agreed. But given 1 dose is ineffective with Delta, I fear the allure of "4 more weeks to double jab the 18-30"' is in on the cards. There will always be a temptation to keep up restrictions, what is needed is someone to have the balls to say "we must learn to live with it" and (importantly) mean it.

However they seemed fairly unequivocal that 19th July would give them enough jabs to unlock....so maybe it will be the epsilon variant that dashes our hopes?

I cant see nightclubs or 2019 normality pub crawls (or free reign international travel, but I think that is a seperate matter?) this year.

But - you could perhaps tag nightclubs and standing at the bar into the scheme below?

With the double vaxxed frothing they cant go to the theatre, and other countries allowing the double jabbed certain extra freedoms, coupled with a legal battle with ALW - I can see any freedoms returned being NHS App Vaccination status dependant. With theatres at the top of the list (and sports events already included - FA cup final, league cup final, Euros, Wimbledon, Snooker world championship)- Boris has promised ALW he will "work closely with him" to try and sort something out. And maybe this is the real reason for the delay?

Can you add a poll, and add an option "any freedoms returned will be vaccine pass dependant"?

No no no hehe

They’ll want all the over 18s double jabbed to prevent them passing the deadly virus onto the older (vaccinated) age groups. And then the over 12s and so on......
nuts

And I reckon the Omega Strain will show up....

Yep Whitty agreeing with the unions who are saying all school children should be vaccinated before September...Despite figures from Bolton showing quite clearly that there is zero correlation between youngsters getting it and it being spread to the older population. Hopefully at some point somebody is going to highlight that young people do not spread it but I am not hopeful as there is no escape from 'the science' no matter how wrong it is...
