Terror attack in Wurzberg
Discussion
Thought there might be a thread on this already? 3 dead and more injured but not a lot of news coverage?

The attacker gave the familiar cry but apparently he is a mentally unstable criminal and not a terrorist.

I’m fairly certain he was mentally unstable! I don’t care if you attend a C of E garden fete and run the tombola - if you then pick up Pru’s rolling pin and beat every bugger to a pulp, then you are one mentally f
ked up person!
Do you really care more about whether he may or may not have been a Muslim terrorist than he obvious has a psychotic history? I have to be honest, I really don’t give a rats arse what he is shouting as he is being all stabby stabby!

Killing people to prove the superiority of one's imaginary friend is not rational behaviour.
This. A lot a people who are bang into it seem to be quite happy with killing others who allegedly disrespect it. Be that a stranger or a relative, mostly female then you’re at risk from religion it seems. Killing people to prove the superiority of one's imaginary friend is not rational behaviour.

I'm surprised that they've labelled him as being mentally unstable because in previous incidents they have carefully avoided that. It's a symptom of the ridiculous woke'ness today - people are frightened of labelling religious nutters as being mentally unstable for fear that that condemns them for being bigoted, intolerant, etc. The nutter who shot up that Island in Norway several years ago did it for religious reasons and he actually challenged the authorities to call him out as being mentally ill on the reasoning that if they did then they would also have to accept that Muslim terrorists were mentally ill too. Clearly they are, along with him, but they won't ever say that.

Religion is completely out of whack with modern life. If you live in an advanced, Western-style society and believe in any sort of religion then you'd have to wonder about your sanity, quite frankly. Killing people to prove the superiority of one's imaginary friend is not rational behaviour.

That’s plainly incorrect. It’s perfectly possible to live a religious life as well as a modern life. BTW I’m about the least religious person you could ever meet. I don’t even believe there is no god.DeejRC said:

If you are willing to kill someone in the name of your great sky fairy then that seems a strong indication of mental illness, but one learned.

Dismissing it simply as mental illness though rather avoids confronting the issue.

There's no militant wing of the CofE seeking out vulnerable people in order to groom them into terrorists.

Breivik was found to be mentally ill, just not so ill as to have no responsibility for his actions.I'm surprised that they've labelled him as being mentally unstable because in previous incidents they have carefully avoided that. The degree to which he was ill was the contested part, not the presence of any mental illness at all.
