It happens far more often than you think, in both male and female prisons.

A quick Google should bring up many UK specific cases, and they’re just the ones that end up in prosecution / disciplinaries. Most of the time the prisoner gets ghosted to the other end of the country and the whole thing gets swept under the carpet.

If there’s one thing Governors don’t like, it’s scandal, (it’s bad for the Governors careers). You wouldn’t believe the sort of things that get covered up in prisons on a regular basis, (including deaths in custody).
