Scotland's Public Transport Chief Caught Cloning Cars
Discussion
Scottish Sunday Mail Story.
Despite absolutely rolling in cash he was probably just being a tight b'stard who didn't want to pay two lots of VED and insurance.

This incident simply reinforces the image of the 'thrifty scotsman'.
He earns £153,000 a year yet drives two knackered old Passat diesels worth about £1000 combined, and then proceeds to try to keep hold of even more of his cash by running on on a cloned plate!
That man is a shining example of how to be staggeringly tight fisted!

In his high-profile position he should have realised that this was unlikely to have gone unnoticed - either stupid or arrogant enough to think that he would get away it, either way he's in a world of pain and embarrassment of his own making. Zero sympathy or understanding from me!
Wonder who it was that dobbed him in?

This is an interesting one for sure, especially as his son is a police officer (or was he blissfully ignorant that his dad had 2 cars with the same reg?) Can I place £5 on nothing happening to them both.

Indeed.By all accounts Maclennan has been syphoning public money into his and his cronies pockets via dodgy deals to buy fleets of vehicles from companies he has interests in and he has carried on with impunity. The guy has no shame and a thick skin.
His son also has several side interests that have conflicted with his police duties but nothing has ever been brought to bear about it.

Drug deaths?, Covid?, Care home deaths?, Childrens education?, Homelessness?, Food banks?, Hospitals...No, to hell with those problems, these people have serious troughing to get done.
Unfortunately the silent majority who did not vote for this shambolic administration are just sitting back doing nothing about it, whilst
the cognitively impaired minority who did are clapping and cheering them on (and that includes the MSM).

I know the sins of the father and all that, but why should the son know about his father's law breaking? I doubt he dad told him over a beer at a pub.Even then, he's his son. Do you expect him to report his father about a registration irregularity?

I suspect that would be the official Police position.

Anecdotal, or is there hard evidence for this? I'm sure Police Scotland would be happy to see it I'd one of their officers is manipulating manipulating system/bent? EV, I am genuinely intersted here. If there is no evidence surely posting anecdotal 'by all accounts' is no better than newspapers saying 'a source close to said....'?
It was reported over a year ago that McLennan's son had breached Covid rules (bearing in mind that the rules were framed in law in Scotland at the time) while working on his sideline as an events co-ordinator and entertainer.Nothing more happened about it. Guess he wasn't high profile enough?

Would you report one of your immediate family if they committed an offence which is on the lower end of the scale? If I was a Police Officer and a member of my family was committing insurance fraud then yes, I'm fairly sure i would.
