It's a shame these things are ruined by some morons. If they acted responsibly they would be fine and the Police would leave them alone.

As usual, the minority of idiots who get over excited ruin it for everyone else.

Whisby Road Lincoln - been there many times when it was the home of the late, great, engine builder Guy Croft.

Ironic as the 'gathering' was for a memorial of a popular biker who died at the same spot earlier this month

The biker died at a different location :

I think this crash happened near a big pub / out of town hotel that once hosted "big fat gypsy weddings"

Unpopular opinion probably but I have little sympathy for anyone involved, including those that were injured, unless they just happened to be there by complete fluke. Just like I'd have next to zero sympathy for anyone injured at the sidelines of the Pamplona bull runs.

Spectators feed the egos of the morons who can't drive, and the morons being morons attracts wannabee YouTube influencers. Two sides of the same dumb coin.

Don’t think anyone said they were ok with it, just they had little sympathy. Not the same thing really.

I don’t see the problem with what he wrote. If you are there encouraging the behaviour it’s hard to be super sympathetic when it all ends in tears. Very unfortunate and wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

To make it about rape it’s like going to a rape party standing close up filming thinking this is great. Then getting raped.

Durzel is clearly victim blaming.

From the linked article we have few facts apart from where it happened, when the crash was and how many people were injured. One of those injured is in a critical condition FFS. According to the article Lincolnshire Police said: "This is a very serious collision with profound physical consequences for those injured."

Well if Durzel has little sympathy for those injured without knowing all the facts and is willing to air those views, then he has a very broken thought process, its a disgusting thing to say. Comments like Durzels should be called out. He even said it would be unpopular, ever wonder why?

He was very clear that the statement was only about people involved, not random bystanders. I think you have rather over reacted. Both drivers and spectators were knowingly involved in what looks awfully like street racing. A crash is a very foreseeable outcome.

Wow...!!!

What are your opinions on victims of rape? You know, just happening to be there.....
Comprehension fail there.
As Tom said, it's not unusual.
The only thing that’s “usual” is the trolling.
Quite how you get to rape victim from what was posted is both very stupid and disgusting in equal measure.
I assumed he was just trolling with a ridiculous straw man, but as is often the case it could just as easily be idiocy. I’m leaning towards the latter with the follow up posts, but the jury is still out.

So tell us why you felt you could say you have little sympathy with 5 unknown people with serious injuries, 1 of which is in a critical condition. What do you know that nobody else is aware of?

Having had a friend very recently involved in an incident where a life was lost, just for being a somewhere where an idiot decided to do something stupid, I can assure you that your callous words are cruel. Would you stand in front of the family members of the 5 victims and say to them you have little sympathy for those 5 victims?

Perhaps the lack of sympathy is because they were presumably willing participants in the event?

1 If you don't like the words then you don't have to read them.
2 Common courtesy would be not to mention it in front of the family but unless you can show otherwise I'll suggest they're not here.

Completely agree with this, everyone at these events are fully aware of what goes on and what the dangers are.
It's a terrible thing to happen but having seen footage of what goes on at a large meet not far from me, drag racing between rows of parked cars in a public car park with people wandering around unaware, this sort of thing is sadly inevitable.
If they want to be safe they should stay well away.

Even in a controlled environment it can be dangerous, re the Marshall killed at brands. I was at a stock car race years ago when a piece of metal flew off a car and hit a woman in the spectator area injuring her.
